But then her gaze softens and her cheeks flush a little and a moment later she's throwing her arms around his neck, wobbling slightly before she finds her balance against him, and hugs him tightly. ]
...! [ As much as he enjoys the game, the hints, and riddles— it's like with songs and dance, you have the know the right moment to improvise quickly with a changing tide.
The suddenness of the embrace is what he does not expect, the trunk of the tree slipping dangerously— but his hand finds firm support, while the others hold Yona closely. ]
So be it! [ His joy and exhilaration openly exclaimed ] There has never been a better time than now.
Oh, that was the plan! [ Sure, he admits to it. As he slowly runs hand through her hair, as if testing if that's allowed ] But you gave me a good opening, and it would be a shame to waste it—

[ Maybe it's disappointing that he doesn't have a much bigger, grander plan for their outing— but a sudden idea strikes him and he bites onto his thumb to draw few quick runes into the branch. Pouring magic into the tree is slightly different than to an object— it's more similar to the magic that enchants flesh he practices at his work.
Afterall trees are living things.
But it works, and for a few seconds the tree's growth accelerates, it sprouts more leaves, branches going downwards, and as if the seasons turned into a spring a myriad of small, white flowers blooms across it ]
[ She laughs at his statement, but the sound is quickly cut off by a small gasp as the tree around them starts the change and grow.
Her eyes wide with wonder, she watches the change, reaching out with gentle fingers to brush a touch against the closest petals, awed by what his magic had created. ]
[ Moments like these— this awe and wonder, the beauty of life springing around. Moments like these make learning and harnessing the magic worth it. He never put much attention to it, back in life. Learned what he had, used what he needed, and freely discarded the rest.
Magic wasn't necessary, like here. So this newfound respect for that force is a change. ]
[ One of the blossoms comes loose in her hand and she cradles it gently a moment before she smiles and turns back to him, lifting the flower to tuck behind one of his ears, nestling it in his hair. ]
[ The "much better" takes him by surprise. Yona once again proves herself to master the unexpected. In response, he hums a soft tune, maybe to hide a bit of fluster. ]
