[Oh, good, she responded. Chikusa was wondering for a moment.]
It's one type. There are smaller and less powerful ones. Their intended purpose is to cut through branches or tree trunks.
[As was demonstrated.]
Whatever size it comes in, it's still a quickly rotating set of metal "teeth" powered by an engine. That means it will still be loud. There's no way to catch someone unawares if you decide to use it as a weapon, especially since it needs to be warmed up before the blades go. That is also loud.
If the people who've been attacked have been shinki, then that's one thing. However, Hakkai is a god. He could have teleported if he thought the person wielding the chainsaw was a serious threat.
I would prefer to understand WHY they're attacking shinki first. But should the reason not be satisfactory - which I doubt, considering the state it left both of my shinki in and how unlikely it is that they would have instigated such a thing - then...
Lives should not be taken easily or lightly, no matter who is doing it. I want them stopped. Although I'm not sure killing them would ultimately make that happen, especially when people tend to come back afterward. Perhaps with more reason to continue out their grudges.
Some who die don't come back. The serial killer proved that. Besides, without their memories, they might lose the reason why they wanted to attack your shinki.
Let me know. I'll do it if you take Ayumu on as a shinki.
No, but I think it's good for them to think SOME of themselves.
Besides, most of that spun out of control because he started believing himself to be the bigger danger to me if he kept the name I gave him. I wish he HAD been thinking a little more of himself.
[He's on the verge of arguing against this... but then he remembers his own ablution, and the message that came with it. Right.... Shinki shouldn't just be tools. Sometimes, it's really hard to remember that kind of thing.]
[Still.]
So he put you in real danger and had to be forced to relent. I don't care for that kind of thing.
I don't think anyone cares for that sort of thing. I don't think he expected me to call his bluff, either way. But he also wasn't thinking clearly anymore when the Blight started to really affect him.
People make mistakes. Even if he went about it the wrong way, he was still trying to protect me from what he saw as a danger. People can be stubborn about things like that.

[ If it could do things to a tree that quickly, then Shizuo and Izumo...
Oh gods, she's suddenly not feeling so well. ]

Unless there was a reason he could not leave. But that...
Such a thing is too dangerous to be left in the Heavens undealt with. I had no idea they were so....
THAT.
[ She knew something that could injure Shizuo that badly had to be serious, but Seeing it was an entirely different matter. ]

When were your shinki attacked?

If it was before the moon viewing, then it has nothing to do with the effects that happened that night.
Do you want them dead?

[ If you hadn't noticed, Chikusa, some people are a little unhinged around here. ]
I would take Ayumu on regardless, if she would wish for such a thing. But I don't want you getting hurt, either. So be careful.
I will still happily come for the cookies, however. They're at Hakkai's temple?

Yes. I'll be outside.

Don't do anything reckless, Chikusa. If whoever this was could damage Shizuo as badly as they did... I don't want to see you hurt.

Also, he's really not.

[Whups. Apparently Chikusa is still judging him for what happened during that one ablution.]

[A call for truce? Who knows. Chikusa doesn't waste much time on it.]
Anyway, just let me know if you want the person who attacked your shinki out of the way without any commotion.

But since you seem to know who they are, might you know their name? Are they a god or a shinki?

[ W E L P ]
But I can probably find out easily enough.
