[ Yona doesn't bother replying to the phone, knowing Hak still had difficulty with using it sometimes. And texts could be all too easily ignored when face-to-face could not.
Which is why she's quick to teleport to Hak's temple, searching for him with single-minded purpose. ]
[Hey, remember the Wind Tribe? Because that's where Hak's temple is. It's exactly the same as the Wind Tribe, with Hak's home being the largest house in the village. When he hears Yona's voice, he blinks and steps out.]
[ There's a sense of nostalgia as she wanders through the village, gaze searching around her, although it's far too quiet here, missing the lively presences of Tae-Woo and Han-Dae, of Tae-Yeon, of General Mundok. She imagines Shin-Ah hadn't made it much noisier, but his presence would have kept Hak from at least being here in his old home alone. Now...
When he steps out ahead of her she hurries towards him, reaching out to take his hand, staring up at his face. ]
I got your message.
[ Her voice is soft and sad, fingers squeezing against his hand. ]
[It's silent. It's lonely. He'd never say that outloud. Shin-Ah kept things where he had someone to talk to, but here, he has nothing now. He looks down at her, letting her take his hand.]
[ She's quick to shake her head, holding his gaze. ]
It's nothing to be sorry for, Hak. There's nothing you did, or didn't do, to cause this. [ She gives him a small, sad smile as she keeps a hold of his hand. ] Trust me, I went over everything myself, the first time it happened. And I'll be okay. I'll miss him. But... despite what memories we sometimes see in this place, I still believe he'll be back home waiting for us when we return, just like none of us ever left at all.
We can feel it. When they're no longer there. When they don't carry our name anymore. The place where we could feel the before is just... empty.
[ Her voice is quiet, because that's an ache that's still fresh, no matter how it had turned out. At least Hak and Izumo were both here as gods now. And Jae-Ha... well. She still believed Jae-Ha was home as well. With Shin-Ah. With Zeno. And eventually the rest of them once more. ]
He is. But that doesn't mean we won't miss him. All of us. But I know it's different, when it's a shinki to a god. No matter how strange this whole arrangement is, it still hurts. [ She gives his hand a light tug. ]
[He didn't want her to come over and have memories of when he was a shinki and left. He only wanted to let her know what was going on. But he can't deny that having her here makes him feel better. He looks down at her hand tug.]
Princess.
[He promised to follow along with her orders no matter what. Looking at her like this, and knowing that he can't just ignore her wishes. Although he really is fine.]
[ Those memories are inevitable in their own way, Hak. There are some things you can't protect her from. Just as she can't for you. But she hopes she can at least help a little.
She gives him an understanding smile and tugs gently at his hand once more. ]
I'm certain. Your temple should be fine for a few days while you come stay with me. You can always stop back in and check on things here when you need to. But I'd feel better if you were close.
[ So when he was calling Shizuo like mad he noticed he had missed calls. But only after coming back home he could charge the stupid phone to actually call. ]
Hi, Yona. I saw your calls- I've uh, let the battery of my phone die.
[ Kind of awkward, but he doesn't really care much about it ]
You need me for something, or did you just want to hear my voice?
[ Hard to pick the date for it, so let's just go with whatever. Maybe the package was just left somewhere in the Temple and was hard to find? Or maybe it was delivered on a right day.
[ Despite it being an anonymous gift, she knows exactly who this is from, because there's only one person here as fond of these bright colors and patterns that she knows of.
Guess what she's wearing the next time she comes to visit, Caster? ]
You... Yoon said Shizuo was with you? [ She sounds confused and hesitant, uncertain at his response now. Had there been a misunderstanding somewhere? ]
[ That would explain him not showing up for the meeting and not answering the phone- Not an explanation he expected to be honest, and it does stun him for a short moment. But he believes her, his own shinki being a constant presence somewhere in the back of his mind. Usually he's not registering that consciously, but in the end he knows he would immediately notice should one disappear.
